JetBlue Card Review
The JetBlue Card from Barclays is a no-annual-fee and airline rewards credit card from Barclays. The perks are impressive, especially when paired with TrueBlue, JetBlue’s airline reward program – ranked number three in the country in customer satisfaction by US News.
Introductory APR Offer
For starters, you’ll enjoy a 0% introductory APR period for the first twelve billing cycles on balance transfers and a variable APR based on creditworthiness and the Prime Rate afterward. This balance transfer offer applies for 12 months following each balance transfer that posts to your account within 45 days of account opening.
TrueBlue Points Welcome Bonus
There’s another welcome offer with the JetBlue Card. New accounts earn 10,000 Bonus Points after spending $1,000 on purchases within the first 90 days of account opening. This welcome offer has a cash value of around $100 when applied toward a JetBlue flight. That might not sound like much, but given the very modest spending requirement, it’s an attractive, sensible bonus.
How to Earn Points
Earning miles with the card is straightforward and uncomplicated. Cardholders earn their highest rewards on eligible JetBlue purchases. You’ll receive 3X points per $1 spent on the following JetBlue transactions:

JetBlue.com | JetBlue reservations | JetBlue Vacations | JetBlue airport ticket counters |

Car rentals and hotel reservations outside of JetBlue Vacation packages | Purchases of TrueBlue points |
The JetBlue Card caters to those who dine out and cook at home and makes it a convenient way to earn free flights regardless of where you eat. You’ll earn 2X points at restaurants and eligible grocery stores. Grocery stores are restricted to MCC codes for grocers. Box stores like Walmart, Target, and Sam’s Club groceries won’t qualify for 2X rewards. All other purchases with the card earn a single point per dollar spent. rueBlue points never expire, and there is no cap on the number of points you can earn per category.
How to Redeem Rewards
There is no set value for TrueBlue points in terms of dollars. Still, generally, you can expect a ratio of roughly 1:1 to 1:1.5 points to dollars. The easiest way to redeem TrueBlue points is by booking flights with JetBlue Airlines. There are no blackout dates on JetBlue-operated flights, meaning any seat, any time.
If you’re not brand loyal to any airline and are trying to determine which airline credit card is right for you, remember that most of JetBlue’s award flights are to destinations on the East Coast. West Coast stops will be limited to major cities, and pickings will be slimmer for mid- or Central United States flights.
You’ll be in good shape for international flights thanks to JetBlue’s international codeshare partners. Including its deep cooperation with American Airlines, JetBlue has a codeshare alliance with the following international carriers:
American Airlines | Hawaiian Airlines | Icelandair | Silver Airways |
JSX | Qatar Airways | Singapore Airlines | South African Airways |
Aer Lingus | Cape Air | Porter |
Other ways to redeem TrueBlue points include bookings through JetBlue Vacations, gift cards, or merchandise.
Cash + Points
TrueBlue cardholders also have the option to use a mixture of TrueBlue points and cash to pay for flights, vacations, or other eligible bookings through JetBlue.com. You can use “Cash + Points” to pay for any JetBlue flight (excluding Blue Basic fares). You will still earn TrueBlue points on the cash portion of your fare or booking.

Should You Apply for the JetBlue Card?
Ultimately, the JetBlue card is a great introductory airline card for those who only fly from time to time (and typically fly JetBlue). The lack of an annual fee means cardholders can earn points at their leisure, without the pressure of spending or traveling a certain amount to make their card “worth it.” But beyond its point-earning capabilities, the card has little else to offer to enhance your booking or inflight experience. Cardholders won’t receive freebies such as checked bags and shouldn’t expect red carpet treatment of priority boarding. This card’s sole purpose is to earn points toward free flights.
