Credit One Bank has launched a new credit card designed to appeal to animal lovers everywhere. The new credit card, a co-branded Visa with nonprofit Best Friends Animal Society, lets cardholders earn up to 5% cash back and donate 1% of their purchases to help achieve an end to kill shelters across the country by 2025. Here is everything you need to know about the new Best Friends Credit Card from Credit One:

Credit One Bank Launches Best Friends Credit Card

Credit One Bank and national animal welfare nonprofit Best Friends Animal Society have a new co-branded credit card: the Best Friends Credit Card. The new card offers exclusive benefits designed for pet lovers and makes it easy for customers to help support the nonprofit’s animal welfare mission and programs.

About the Best Friends Visa Card

The Best Friends Credit Card is part of an ongoing partnership between Best Friends and Credit One Bank, which was announced earlier this year. The new card, a Visa Platinum, offers 5% cash back rewards on the first $5,000 in eligible pet shop and pet food/supply store purchases each calendar year, then 1% after that.

Cash back does not only apply to pet purchases, however. Nor is the cardholder the only recipient of rewards. Best Friends receives a donation in an amount equal to 1% of eligible purchases made with the card, which ensures all cardholders are playing their part to help the organization in its mission to eliminate kill shelters in the United States.

The Best Friends Credit Card is marketed towards applicants with established credit histories and comes with an annual fee of between $39 and zero, depending on the applicant’s creditworthiness. The card is currently live for new applicants (read our full review here).

“Make It Easier for Customers to Support Causes They Care About”

As mentioned, the new Best Friends Credit Card is the latest chapter in an ongoing partnership between Credit One Bank and Best Friends Animal Society. This partnership is helping give Credit One customers an increased ability to help causes they support with everyday purchases, according to John Coombe, Credit One Bank’s SVP on marketing, in a press release announcing the card’s launch.

“We want to make it easy for our customers to support causes they care deeply about,” he said. “That’s why Credit One Bank will make donations to Best Friends Animal Society equal to 1% of all net spend made with the Best Friends Credit Card to help support their goal of reaching no-kill shelters across the country by 2025. We’re proud to be offering a credit card that allows pet lovers to give back simply by making their everyday purchases.”

“We know we can’t reach our goals without partnerships like the one we have with Credit One Bank,” said Valerie Dorian, chief development officer at Best Friends Animal Society. “This is a great way for us to reach a different audience to raise awareness for our mission and help raise much needed funds to reach our goals.”
