NASA Federal Credit Union is a leading credit union with over 17,000 members throughout Florida, Texas, and the United States.

The history of NASA Federal Credit Union (NASA FCU) dates to 1949, and seven scientists. With just $2 in deposits, the federal credit union now has over $2.8 billion in assets, making it one of the largest credit unions in the United States.

Who Can Join NASA Federal Credit Union?

While you might think membership in NASA Federal is limited to astronauts and ground control, almost anyone can join the credit union. Membership is currently available to the following individuals:

  • Current NASA employees, including anyone employed at any NASA facility
  • Retired NASA employees or retired employees at a NASA facility
  • Members of the National Academy of Sciences
  • Employees or members of any NASA FCU partner company or associations
  • Relatives or household members of any NASA Federal member

The easiest way to join NASA Federal Credit Union is by becoming a member of the National Space Society – one of the affiliated partners. Joining NASA FCU provides a free one-year membership in the group and instantly opens membership. After the first year, membership is just $12.50 per year after that.
